Personal Injury

If you have suffered an injury which is in no way your fault, you may be wondering if you are enduring a personal injury.  There are many ways you can suffer a personal injury such as a physical injury, disease, illness, psychological problems from stress in the workplace, injuries from faulty products or services, injuries resulting from a crime or something as simple as tripping over uneven paving stones.  When something like this sustains injury to your person what can you do?

There are four basic things that can be done if you are suffering from a personal injury.  It is possible that your injuries are not debilitating and you just want to make a complaint against the person or company.  If you have had to pay money to a doctor or hospital or other medical bills have accrued you may wish to file a claim for compensation.  There may be a period of time that you are unable to work due to the personal injury which means that you are experiencing financial problems.  You need immediate help and there are ways to get it.  The last way to deal with a personal injury is to get support or counseling to help you.  If you aren’t sure what the best option is for you, look to our solicitor referral service to provide answers.

The injuries could have been sustained in an automobile accident.  If this is the case you will most likely have already talked with the police and a report was written.  Always take the time to report any accident to your insurance company as you may develop personal injury problems later on.  If notice wasn’t supplied to the insurance company immediately you may not be able to make a claim after the fact.  An accident at work that manifests into personal injury should be reported to the appropriate person there.  Make sure that you get copies of doctors’ reports, police reports and the reports that your employer must fill out.  These will be needed to substantiate your claim should you seek compensation.  If at all possible take photos of the accident when it happens to further your claim.
